Okay, some of you were talking about how easy it is for the defenders (the tricolour map), but I got the exact opposite impression. As an attacker, you can literally just wait for the defenders to move slightly out of your path, then squid surge over the ledge and make an attempt. If you keep doing this for most of the match, you're pretty much guaranteed to get at least one ultra signal. (every attempt makes the time you have to hold it for diminish) Dunno though.

As ghost I keep getting mirror tri matches so I probably won’t even bother playing any more tri. Also are the connection issues bad for anyone else for this fest? I got booted out of a mirror match not even a few seconds into it and I got banned after getting a communication error in an open match with 50 secs left

@Croctopus as another Shiver fan I know how you’re feeling. People are going to celebrate about how “Shiver finally lost!!” which totally won’t get annoying…

@luckyseven Yeah, it'll be even worse if Frye wins or Team Zombie gets zero Splatfest points. Big Man teams have a history of winning Pro except for Teams Scissors, Courage and Love. I've just played almost exclusively in Open. It could be so much worse. Shiver could've lost the last fest and not be the leader of Deep Cut anymore.

I'm going to make my final predictions. So we know Ghost won sneak peak, as for the others:

  • Popularity - Ghost (Mostly played against Ghost teams)
  • Standard - Zombie (Didn't play much so just a random guess)
  • Pro - Skeleton (had a good amount of wins)
  • Tricolor - Zombie (most common match up was Zombie + Skeleton vs. Ghost and attacking team generally won so Zombie gets most points due to 1.5x bonus)
  • Overall - Zombie

I must be cursed or something because ever since the Anniversary Splatfest (aka the one that introduced the special 10x Deep Cut badges), I've only gotten ONE 10x in the two fests since (which I lost). I've mainly been playing Splatfest, is there something I'm doing wrong here?

@Grumblevolcano Don't forget that Ghost and Skeleton also get a small points bonus due to having the most Conch Shells/being in the lead at Half-Time.

I personally really don't want Zombie to win myself. I've got absolutely nothing against the people on it (and I nearly went with it myself before deciding on Ghost) but good lord: if Splatoon is known for currently being a fair bit toxic as is, could you IMAGINE the fallout if Shiver managed to win despite having less popularity AND losing both the Conch Shell and Half-Time Report.

All right, I think I did pretty decent in the Splatfest overall. Managed to get a healthy amount of clout for Open, Pro, and Tricolor matches, and even won two 100x battles for Zombie. One for Open, the other for Pro. We'll see which team wins in an hour from now... if Skeleton or Ghost wins this one, I'll at least be happy for Frye or Big Man since it's been a while since their teams won.

…I forgot about the Splatfest ‘till this morning and only got like 3-4 matches in.

Thank goodness I got the Ruler badge during Grass Vs Fire Vs Water, or I’d be very frustrated right now.

Well then. Congrats to Team Ghost. It pains me that Shiver fell off her win streak but even a fanboy like me can admit that an OCCASIONAL Shiver loss is good for Splatfest and the game in general. People can stop whining about Splatfest being rigged now. If Nintendo can fix Mahi-Mahi Resort, they can rein in Shiver’s Splatfest dominance by trying to balance the team themes, as I’ve suggested before. I’m just going to hate how haters will be sore winners in gloating over Shiver’s defeat as if she’s no longer fresh. They didn’t have to like Shiver’s huge win streak but it’s just petty to kick a character while she’s down with crude drawings and derogatory messages. They should be feeling bad for Frye right now. She truly IS haunted by failure!

The Shiver streak is finally over!

GG's everyone; this was definitely one of the most fun Splatfests I've played (and has pretty much reignited my love/interest for Splatoon 3) and being on the winning team just made things all the more sweet! 🧟☠👻
