The Divine Bloodlines OST in the trailer was amazing! I haven't been this excited for a new tv show or movie in years.

Know this is looking way down the line but kind of hope eventually they do a Soma Cruz show.

First two season were amazing and then season 3 happened. I’ll give this one a chance if it leads into SOTN.

I've tried to get into the show, but I just can't get that excited about this. I just want a true Classicvania game. The IntiCreates games are excellent, but I await a true branded Castlevania. I wish they'd just sell the IP already instead of let it rot.

Great year for me to get into this series.

It was very unnecessary to race bend Annette. But, they also did this with Issac before, so, I think most folks wouldn't mind the change... But still, if they really need more black / African-American representation, they could just create new characters.

My eyes are ready to watch!

@RareFan at least Isaac was a good character and not a ridiculous swap like making Jarl Haakon Erikson into a black woman in the show Vikings: Valhalla.
I stopped watching the show after that.

On topic: Looking forward to this and hoping it's as good as the previous one.

As you can probably guess I am a huge Castlevania fan.

That said my opinion on the first series was kind of mixed. It was meh, the ending was bad, the setting was not that close to medieval Europe, or the games and the characters behaved differently and surely talked differently from what you expected. Still, it had some cool action scenes that semi reminded you of set pieces from the game.

From the trailer the new series seems more of the same which is either good or bad, depending on your opinion on the previous series.

Zero faith this will be any good, based on the previous show, which I found to be abysmal and downright insluting 99% of the time. "Castlevania" proper it was not. Including "Divine Bloodlines" is nice, but I doubt they'll rely on much music from the actual games. Either way, I love "Castlevania" and that's exactly why I'm skipping this. Might go watch 2004's "Van Helsing" instead.

@RareFan Yeah you have to remember this is Netflix. They are notorious for race swapping established characters in their shows per their official policy for the quota.

Had to double check who some of these characters were just like what happened to Isaac in last show.

On a side note The voice for Belmont sounds horrible

I really greatly enjoyed the last series but I don't expect I will enjoy this one - due to the departure of Ellis as the writer/director.

I still enjoy the animation here - but the VA is really bad and it lacks the desperation of the first series.

i love castlevania like anyone else but wat netflex has been doing to this show by making unwanted changes to certain characters like richters beloved in this new season needs to stop dont mind if they made a new characters but changing an existing characters background lore is wat turning the alot of fans off and of course attacking the fans of castlevania is also not a good idea either.

So many people bothered by race swapping… it’s a fictional video game story… I don’t think it matters that much. As long as the characters are awesome and we’re getting fun castlevania content. Quit being lame and racist.

@Dimasaurus Doesn’t matter if it’s a fictional story it’s still annoying for anyone that is a fan of said series because nobody asked for these modifications. PoC can get more representation without using someone else as a base. I want more animation stuff like Static Shock that has originality. Hell create some original PoC Castlevania characters. That worked amazing for Miles Morales in Spider-man who ended up being almost as popular as Peter Parker.

Look at what Netflix did to Death Note and several other shows. They prioritized checkboxes for lazy replacements rather than integrity of the actual source material and it backfired hard on them. People are right to critique every time they do this.

Imagine if Black Panther got replaced by Chris Pratt. It’s fine because “fictional story” right? I’m sure people won’t complain about that either in current year lol

Maybe because season 1 & 2 are so good IMO.

There is a difference in creating a new black character (such as Elena from Street Fighter, or Nessa from Pokémon), and race swapping an already existing character (like they did here with Annette).

Netflix version of Death Note isn't a good example, since it's literally supposed to be an American version of the source material. And Japan already came out with their own films that you can watch.

Nick Fury is another bad example seeing as the Black version is from Ultimate comics and not the 616 version. People forget that the MCU is a mixed of different versions of the comics, just like with Peter Parker.

Where was all this concerned decades ago when it was the other way around? Its what lead to all this in the first place, but people forget that.

Anyhow, I enjoyed the last series. Hope this one is good.
